Directions to Glen Auchie, Auld Smiddy & East Muntloch Croft Bed & Breakfast
Our self catering and Bed & Breakfast lies on the road to the Mull of Galloway, Dumfries and Galloway, South Rhins, South West Scotland. From Ayr or Prestwick, take the A77 to Stranraer - follow the A716 to Drummore, on reaching the main street turn right (B7041) taking the signs for 'Mull of Galloway' at the top of the town turn left then right and continue until you reach the 'Mull of Galloway 3 miles' sign. Turn right (Cairngaan Road) and come to East Muntloch Croft Bed & Breakfast just a few yards on. We will then take you down to the cottages. From Dumfries take the A75 until just after the Glenluce bypass, then on reaching Drummore - follow as above. ( If your car is petrol then fill up in Stranraer or Newton Stewart as you can only get Diesel in Drummore ). Dumfries and Galloway

Stranraer is the main town in the west of Dumfries and Galloway, there is a railway that takes you to Ayr and Glasgow but it is the main port from Scotland to Ireland. You can take a day trip to Belfast or many of the daily bus trips to the Giants Causeway.

There are also charter fishing boat trips which is an excellent day out for the keen fishers, but there are many bays for coastal fishing.

The climate in this part of Dumfries and Galloway is moderated by the warming effect of the Gulf Stream, this gentle climate makes for great days out exploring the many coves and beaches around the coast. Relax and enjoy the clean fresh air and the sound of the waves splashing on the shore, there is an excellent coastal walk around the Mull of Galloway.
