Stranraer is the main town in the west of Dumfries and Galloway, there is a railway that takes you to Ayr and Glasgow but it is the main port from Scotland to Ireland. You can take a day trip to Belfast or many of the daily bus trips to the Giants Causeway.
An exciting venture starting in our area of Dumfries and Galloway is boat trips around the Mull of Galloway to Port Logan, you will see the many different varieties of birds nesting on the cliffs, look out for the Puffins. Out from the Mull is Scar Rock which is awash with seals, they also come into our bays and sun themselves on the rocks. Day trips to the Isle of Man can be booked but these will run only on good days.
There are also charter fishing boat trips which is an excellent day out for the keen fishers, but there are many bays for coastal fishing.
